Tear gas, panicked pbaders-by and closed shops left this Wednesday afternoon,the riots that occur in the vicinity of the central campus of the University of Antioquia, North of Medellín.
The brawl, perpetrated by hooded men throwing stones and explosives against uniformed police officers, occurs after a day of peaceful protest, this Wednesday morning in the city, for the defense of public education.
Due to the disturbances are kept closed, at this time, Ferrocarril Avenue and Barranquilla Street, two main roads of Medellín, which has generated huge traffic jams in the sector.
In the Ruta N Innovation Center and the Aventura Shopping Center, among other buildings in the area, they were closed to prevent damage and injured citizens.
In social networks, users have reported that even tear gas have affected residential developments around the square where the riots take place, which apparently led some of their tenants to go in search of protection.
