The problems continue for Facebook. Now, the social network acknowledged that it was unlocking blocked profiles due to an error in its system . The failure, which was active from May 29 to June 5 this year, affected more than 800,000 users
The error, which was present in Facebook and Messenger, was resolved. "We know that the ability to block someone is important, and we would like to apologize and explain what happened," Facebook said on his blog.
The social network said that even if someone unlocked could not see shared content with friends, could have seen content published to a wider audience, such as images shared with friends of friends . Generally, when you block someone on Facebook, that person can not see the items you post on his profile, start conversations in Messenger, or add them as a friend. The lock also detaches them automatically if they were previously friends.
In the case of this problem, Facebook reported that: Connections of friends that had been deleted were not restored; 83% of those affected by the error had only one person temporarily blocked unlocked; and someone who was unlocked could have contacted the Messenger people who had blocked them.
Starting Monday, July 2 the social network will send an alert to the affected people and invite them to consult their list of people blocked .
