First approved credit for the construction of the Bogotá Metro – Bogotá

The Board of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) approved a $ 600 million programmatic loan and an initial investment of $ 70 million for the construction of the Bogotá Skytrain. This was announced by the Metro Company

This is one of three loans that should be ready before August 6 the day the call for tenders will open. and whose details will be revealed by Mayor Enrique Peñalosa.

The other two loans are to the World Bank, for $ 600 million, and to the European Investment Bank, for another 400 million euros, as reported by Metro Corporation .

The decision of the IDB Board to approve this loan and the signing of the other loans will allow the Metro company to open the process of International bidding according to the rules of the multilateral bank, aiming to select the company or group of companies that will develop the project.

According to Metro, the selection procedure defined with the credit entities provides for two stages: the first consists of the pre-qualification of the companies concerned, according to the minimum rules established. Interested companies must provide documentation attesting to their current, technical, financial and legal experience and capacity.

"Only companies or groups of companies that go beyond this first stage can participate in the next stage. For the beginning of the second stage, Metro will publish the specifications and final designs, based on which the pre-qualified will present its economic offers, "said Metro Company in a statement.

The first subway line will be fully elevated. He will leave the area of ​​Bosa and finish his route to Caracas with 78th Street. 70% of the money for this project is put by the Nation and the remaining 30 by the District.
