The ASC-Sapiens National Ranking ranks the best institutions of higher education (IES) in the countries, at the university, technical, technological and university levels, public and private, based on the indicators of social appropriation of knowledge, made up of certain variables identified in the category A and B research groups.

To this extent, which is the second version of the ranking, 253 higher education institutions were ranked, out of about 355 that are currently in the country.

It should be recalled that the clbadification takes into account the main and sectional seats of each university or institute of higher education.

According to the official report, the National University of Colombia-Bogota, has the highest score, as in the ranking U-Sapiens 2018.

One of the most striking results in the Regional area is that the Santander Technology Units (UTS) have advanced 73 positions in the clbadification, with an increase rate of 190.9%.

Ninth position

In total, 15 IES of the department are included in this measure, and these , the Industrial University of Santander was ranked ninth in the rankings, remaining in the same position as in the ranking of 2016.

According to the report, the University obtained 1674.78 points of the measured variables, which it gave a growth of 4.86%, compared to the 2016 results, and well above the cumulative score of the country, which for this version was 105 847 points.

What measures?

The first ranking of ASC, the social appropriation of knowledge, was done in 2016, taking into account the call Colciencias research groups.

It should be recalled that this scale is made by a private consultant independently.

In this clbadification, which aims to highlight the best institutions through research, Sapiens takes into account four variables.

The first is Citizen Participation in Science (PCI), in which research products that have an impact on the community are badyzed.

They are followed by educational strategies for the promotion of science (EPF), which take into account products with dynamic exchange and transfer of knowledge to communities.

A third indicator is the BCC, social communication of knowledge, which focuses on communicative products. A final variable is the dissemination of specialized knowledge (CCE), which evaluates products in specialized communities.
