Maduro seeks Turkish investment in Istanbul for Venezuela

Istanbul.- The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, met in Istanbul with Turkish businessmen to encourage investment in Venezuela.

"We have brought a comprehensive document of all investment opportunities.the first step where Venezuela comes out with a detailed investment proposal," said Mr. Maduro at a meeting of the "Business Forum between Turkey and Venezuela."

The Venezuelan president arrived in Turkey Sunday to attend the inauguration of his Turkish counterpart and ally, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

There, Maduro held bilateral meetings with other participants at the inauguration of Erdogan, such as the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Zani; or Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

The Latin American leader traveled this morning from Ankara to Istanbul to meet Turkish and Venezuelan businessmen in an extraordinary forum, organized by the Turkish organization of foreign economic relations DEIK, reported Efe.

"I gave my word to Chávez we wanted to build a road with Turkey," said the president.

Maduro congratulated Erdogan for renewing his position, and urged the participants to act Caracas' intentions to further strengthen trade and diplomatic relations after the new government.

The national leader also informed the Turkish businessmen of the creation of the "cryptocurrency" petro-digital strategy of his government to avoid the financial blockade that suffers the country.

"This cryptocurrency called oil, which will be equivalent to 5,000 barrels of oil, will be created to open a new stage in Venezuela," he said.

The Venezuelan government views Turkey as an allied country, helping it to "break" with the "blockade" promoted by the United States, as recently announced by the Foreign Minister of the United States. Republic, Jorge Arreaza.
