The Department of Transport released the new resolution to regulate technology platforms for luxury taxis. This document is the support of the decree by which the District has put in place the system of intelligent taxis.

Almost a week ago, before the decision of the High Court and having no legal standing on the subject, the Ministry chose to suspend the deadlines for the introduction of luxury taxis. The idea was that by this Saturday at the latest, all taxis with plates finished at 4, 5 and 6 had the new system of loading by tablets.
Now, with the new resolution to be published 15 days pending comments and suggestions, mobility will have a basis for going forward with the implementation of the platform that will give the cost of the career before to start the service, taking into account the distance and traffic of the route. After these 15 days, the Ministry of Transportation will evaluate the observations and send the document to the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce, as well as to the Administrative Department of the Public Service, pending their statements.
The resolution suspended by the State Council stated that the taxis who would benefit from the conditions established by the regulations would be those who have a quality of luxury . In other words, they provide users with comfort, accessibility and operation above the basic level, characterized by the provision of their services in sedan cars, four-door motorhomes and / or trucks. However, the new published resolution stated that the implementation and use of the platforms will be mandatory for companies interested in obtaining and maintaining the authorization of provide luxury quality service and optional for those who are interested in providing basic service. Thus, the regulation will give free access to the Mobility Secretariat of Bogota to resume the installation of "smart taxis", since it can now be accepted by the whole of the guild.
However, Manuel González Hurtado, Director of Transport and Transit of the Ministry of Transport, expressed in a document the need to acquire technological platforms for the public service, in order to give continuity regulations It contains public policy on the provision of services at the luxury level.
It should be recalled that the document issued by the Ministry was suspended by the State Council because it did not have the concept of the Superintendence of Industry and (SIC), which is mandatory in any state regulation project that has an impact on the market, as this ensures free competition. The omission of the CIS concept prior to the expedition caused the suspension of the resolution as a precaution and the introduction of "smart taxis" in Bogotá.
