This Thursday, the criminal court sentenced the murderer of the young student in graphic design at the University of Los Andes: Lenis Fernando Mendoza will pay 35 years in prison for the aggravated homicide crime.

According to the sentencing decision, it is Mendoza who shot Garcia the moment she left the station. Although earlier versions suggested that the university was opposed to a robbery, the authorities rejected the hypothesis because all of Daniela's cases appeared. However, the judge in the case confirmed that the crime was set around an attempted robbery. Mendoza was captured in January of this year, after several months of identification work, which was finally realized thanks to the videos of the security cameras installed in the vicinity of the 21 Angeles station. A police patrol found her in the street and took her to the Suba Hospital where she received first aid, but early in the morning she had to be transferred at the intensive care unit of the Shaio clinic.

Daniela fought a battle of more than six months against the wound caused by the projectile which was lodged in the right side of his skull, and which was extracted several hours after the attack by a group of neurosurgeons.
