The Organization of American States (OAS) announced yesterday that the Permanent Council of this organization will badyze tomorrow, Wednesday, the situation of the crisis that is going through the country.

This session will be broadcast live on the official OAS platform at 10 am Eastern time of the United States, that is to say at 8:00. local time, yesterday confirmed the institution through its official Twitter account.

The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) confirmed that the meeting will also focus on the establishment of the Special Follow-up Mechanism for Nicaragua (Meseni) and the Interdisciplinary Group of Independent Experts (GIEI).

The final report of the IACHR, presented last Friday, June 22, before the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS), indicated that the government crackdown on civil protests in the country, which began the October 18, April, resulted in a "serious crisis of human rights".

In this report, at least 212 people were declared dead during attacks on demonstrations and during violent events that took place between April 18 and June 19. According to the IACHR, 1,337 wounded and hundreds of detainees have been "threatened" with attacks and threats.

However, this figure increased in the following days, the Nicaraguan Association for Human Rights (Anpdh) brought to 309 the total number of casualties last week.
