According to the investigation conducted by the prosecutor's office in December 2017, it implemented a reform of the statute of the university to recover funds for "pecuniary fees". In addition to the $ 16 billion for which he was captured, he must also respond to the charges through a contract fair, the main beneficiary of which would be a close friend of the rector.
In addition, he was questioned for buying a property in Miami, USA, in July 2017 for an approximate value of $ 3.1 million, shortly before he began paying the payment to public servants and the public. teachers.
These errors would have been quantified by the teachers themselves to 15 billion pesos over a period of one year.

Before becoming rector of Uniautónoma, he was treasurer of the district of Barranquilla from 1995 to 1997 and director of the metropolitan area of Barranquilla (AMB) from 1996 to 1999.
