Many times, the leader of liberalism said that he was ready to collaborate with the national government for the good of the country and since independence, as long as the conditions expressed by the community are maintained so as not to affect the poorest.
With regard to tax reform, Gaviria reiterated that his position is to maintain the elimination of VAT on the commodities of the family basket, pensions, used houses and those not concerned by subjects such as guardianship or the independence of powers with reforms like the Justice, which is on the verge of sinking into Congress.
The two exmandatarios have agreed to meet again next week. President Iván Duque had also this week invited the director of liberalism, César Gaviria, to try to reach a consensus on the legislative program.
