Colorado man arrested after human remains found

Adre Baroz, 26, of Sanford, Colorado, was arrested at a Gallup motel Thursday afternoon, the CBI said in a statement. He faces charges of first-degree homicide, first-degree assault and second-degree kidnapping, the statement said.

Local and state officials said Wednesday they had found the remains of three people at two properties in Lasauses, Colorado, while they were serving a search warrant.

Lasauses is a small town along the Rio Grande, just north of the New Mexico border.

Investigators said it could take weeks or months to identify the gender, age and identity of people.

Forensic anthropologists were able to determine that the remains belonged to three people, Monte Vista Police Chief George Dingfelder said.

Baroz was taken into custody without incident, the statement said, and taken to a detention center in Gallup.

Due to the ongoing investigation, law enforcement has not given any details as to what led them to identify Baroz as a suspect, how long the remains remained on the property or if they can be linked. to recently missing persons.

It is not known if Baroz still has a representation.

The arrest warrant remains sealed, the statement said.
