INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Colts today signed the security of free-agent Kai Nacua, free striker Charcandrick West and free-drawer Marquis Young. The team placed Onta Foreman's running back and wide receiver Daurice Fountain on the injured list and gave up safety, Derrick Kindred.
Nacua, 6-0, 205 pounds, competed in the 2019 Carolina Panthers off-season training camp and camp before being canceled on August 4th. In 2018, he was part of the Baltimore Ravens training team. As a rookie in 2017, Nacua was part of the Cleveland Browns' active team and coaching team. He saw action in all 16 games (three starts) and totaled 13 tackles (11 solo). Nacua initially signed with the Browns as an unregulated free agent on May 4, 2017.
Where is, 5-10, 205 pounds, played in 52 career games (11 starts) with the Kansas City Chiefs (2014-18) and has compiled 268 runs for 998 yards and seven touchdowns. He also had 77 receptions for 589 yards and six touchdowns. West has played six playoff games (two starts) and has recorded 26 runs for 86 yards and one touchdown. He also caught seven passes for 39 yards. West initially signed with the Chiefs as an unregistered free agent on May 12, 2014.
Young, 5-11 year old, 210 pounds, competed at the Colts' mini-camp in 2019 on a trial basis. He also competed in the 2019 Tennessee Titans Mini-Camp. Collectively, Young played 47 games in Massachusetts and compiled 685 runs for 3,631 yards and 29 touchdowns. He caught 98 passes for 671 yards and two touchdowns. Young also scored 40 kickoff returns for 900 yards and one touchdown. He ended his career in the Minutemen fifth overall in rushing and running yards, tied for sixth in touchdowns and seventh in rushing yards (5.3).
overseer, 6-1, 235 pounds, was claimed by the Colts after waivers (of Houston) on August 5, 2019. He played 11 games (a start) in two seasons (2017-18) with the Texans and totaled 85 races. 326 yards and two touchdowns. Foreman also caught eight passes for 111 yards and a touchdown. He competed in the playoffs and entered one for three yards.
Fountain, 6-2, 210 pounds, was selected by Indianapolis in the fifth round (159th overall) of the NFL draft in 2018. As a rookie, he was part of the active team and the lineup of the 'team. Fountain participated in a regular season game and two post-season competitions. Collectively, he played 52 games (37 starts) north of Iowa and totaled 150 receptions for 2,077 yards and 23 touchdowns.
Kinship, 5-10, 208 pounds, was claimed by the Colts in two waivers (of Cleveland) on April 2, 2019. He played 42 games (17 starts) in three seasons (2016-18) with the Browns and totals 137 tackles (100 solo), 10.0 tackles for loss, 12 defensive passes, two interceptions, one forced fumble and 11 special saves.
