The COVID-19 vaccine rollout continues in various parts of the country, with most states limiting availability to healthcare workers and other essential employees, as well as the elderly. To that end, famous comedian Steve Martin took to social media to reveal the good news, that he was able to get vaccinated, and the bad news of it all, which we won’t spoil yet. “Good news / Bad news. Good news: I just got the vaccine!” Martin wrote. “Bad news: I got it because I’m 75. Ha! Operation in New York was smooth as silk (sorry for the @BCDreyer snap!) And hosted to perfection by the military American and National Guard. Thank you all, and thank you science. “
Asked by a fan what he did to sign up for the vaccine, Martin replied, “I signed up online through a NYC dot gov website (sorry, I don’t have the exact site), and I waited IN line at the Javits Center. ” Another asked about the side effects of Martin’s writing: “Right now I don’t have real resections.”

Martin has often been a silver lining during the ongoing pandemic, previously doing a gag on the use of public masks and how he can make sure everyone still knows he’s Steve Martin while his face is covered. It was a simple solution.

Despite the pandemic, Martin remained busy, publishing the book “A Wealth of Pigeons: A Cartoon Collection” with New York cartoonist Harry Bliss in November; and appearing in Netflix Father of the bride part 3 (ish). Billed as a near sequel, this all-new chalkboard reading saw Martin return as the titular father alongside cast members Diane Keaton, Kieran Culkin, Martin Short, George Newbern, and Kimberly Williams-Paisley. Nancy Meyers – who wrote both Father of the bride movies, as well as other romantic comedy classics like Something must give, Vacations, and Baby boom, brought the characters of Father of the bride and Father of the Bride II back to support the World Central Kitchen.
