How to prepare and which articles to bring

The following are essential for community day events:

goods

In order to be ready for Turtwig Community Day, we suggest that the following installation is the minimum requirement for the event:

  • 6 star rooms
  • 10 incubators
  • 150 – 250 Pinap bays
  • 300 poké balls (mixed, but big and ultra are always welcome)
  • 6 lucky eggs
  • 6 incense
  • Lure modules

Explanation

  • Star Room – Stardust is one of the game's most valuable resources, alongside Rare Candy, TM and Sinnoh Stones. Thus, the possibility of increasing your earnings, during your best capture time and the default x2 bonus, is really a great opportunity. On top of that, Star Piece will increase the Stardust you get from every egg you hatch.
  • Egg incubator / super incubator – Combine with Star Piece at any time, there is no point in exploding without Star Pieces.
  • Pinap Berry / Silver Pinap Berry – Although we do not recommend the use of Silver Pinaps, both of these solutions could be used to increase your confectionery earnings, and given the meta-relevant relevance of some of the exclusive moves, confections will certainly be needed.
  • Lucky egg – While this may not be incredibly useful for level 40 players, those who are on the way to the max level will find the benefits of a brilliant lucky egg, both during the regular event and the bonus 2x.
  • Poké Balls – Needless to say, you need balls to catch Pokémon, make provisions for the most upscale as much as you can before the event to get easy catch.
  • Raid Passes – Weird suggestion no? No, make a raid, with a star piece and a lucky egg, and catch something that is lucky with strong IVs.
  • Gotcha / GO Plus / Poké Ball Plus – These are good for turning stops while you walk, or catch that random Roselia or something that appears.

Optimize the use of the Lure module

With Lure modules of a duration of three hours, the optimal use is to activate one from the beginning of the event. Activate the lures along your farming route.

Mixing Glacial, Mossy and Magnetic Lure modules with Normal modules can be beneficial for players who do not have regular access to them. These lures will also last three hours. We suggest that you place them in a convenient location, outside of your "CD farming route".

Note: Placing a lure at the last minute of the event will make this lure last for three hours.

Where to play

As a general rule, our localization tips for the community day are always the same: choose a location with many spawn zones (preferably a park) and enough PokeStops to take advantage of the exclusive CD quests.

A ideal place to play during the September Community Day looks like this:

  • Has large spawning areas and a large number of PokeStops – important for picking eggs and lure breeders during the event
  • Has a large number of natural bridges that will be converted to Turtwig during CD time
  • The PokeStops are spread over a fairly straight line and you can attract and raise the eggs efficiently.
  • Take at least 5 to 6 minutes walk from one end to the other. This will help you get a better egg hatch distance because you will not benefit from Adventure Sync during the event (only works if the game is closed).
  • The zone allows you to travel the entire distance traveled from one end to the other, thus maximizing the trapped distance gained while walking. The shape and size of the area should not affect your ability to effectively cultivate Turtwig – you must be able to do both things successfully.

Among the perfect examples of these areas are parks filled with PokeStops along a path or urban areas with long streets that allow walking. In general, you should look for "cluster formation areas", ie areas with a lot of network traffic where Pokemon often appear in groups. These areas tend to be perfect venues for CD events, and they are perfect if they are easy to attract.

Trading advice

At the end of your community day, we suggest you keep all the Pokémon you have caught in your storage. Transferring them earlier reduces your chances of getting a lucky exchange afterwards. This is especially true for high level Pokémon with bad IV – Pokémon level 28, 29 and 30 are perfect candidates for a quick exchange after the event.

Most exchanges take place about an hour after the end of the community day and this is the ideal strategy for dealing with it. Our advice is:

  • High-level trade, low IV, Pokemon first. We use the new search string filters 0 *, 1 * and 2 * to find the appropriate Pokémon. Sort them by CP for sorting by level. Example of a search string for Turtwig:
387 & 0 *, 1 *, 2 *

If possible, always share with someone you have a great friendship with. We often forget, but to exchange with a friend imposes an IV floor for the exchanged Pokémon:

  • Good friend – 1/1/1 IV floor
  • Grand Friend – 2/2/2 IV floor
  • Ultra Friend – 3/3/3 IV floor
  • Best Friend – 5/5/5 IV Floor

If you plan to bulk CD Pokemon, know that trading them before you will give +1 candy per Pokemon. It does not matter if you like to trade or not – it is always advantageous to trade bad Pokemon before transferring them.

If you are thinking of ending a lucky exchange with a brilliant CD, we suggest you choose a bad glossy IV for trading. Lucky Pokémon have a 12/12/12 IV floor, which is great for "repairing" bad bad Pokémon.

Search Chains for Fast Trading

  • Turtwig exchange safe: 387 & 0 *, 1 *, 2 * (sorted by CP)
  • 82.2% + Turtwig search string: 387 & 3 *, 4 *
  • 100% Turtwig search string: 387 & 4 *

Tips and tricks

  • As stated before, Niantic has announced that you can upgrade your Turtwig to get the exclusive transfer from the community day to the next day. 2 hours later the event ends. This means that you can focus more on capturing Turtwig instead of evolving in the last few minutes. Although as a general rule of thumb, if there are problems with the end of Niantic, change at least a few before the end of the event.
  • Pokémon that you have not caught before the start of the event can turn into Turtwig, it is best to wait to catch the event starts.
  • Be patient – there will be errors and bugs early in the event. It is best to restart the application in some cases, if not in most cases.
  • To make sure your lures last the full time, do not lure them before the start of the event because they will only last 30 minutes. You will know when the community day will take place, just watch for the offset peak, the rotating Pokéball and the almost inevitable need to restart. The lures will then last three hours.
  • Use Incense to attract even more Pokémon while hunting. If you ask yourself, yes, incense can give rise to a community day, it can be brilliant. The incense is worth it.
  • Talk with your fellow coaches and develop your local Pokémon Go community. Make good use of QR code function to make new friends!
  • Promote new Pokémon Go features and events to coaches who are starting their adventure or have not played for a long time.
  • Above all, have fun, get your brilliant Turtwig and hope for good network connections!
