The trophies were presented at the 34th edition of the Independent Film Awards. Faithful to the form of Los Angeles, the ceremony took place near the beach on a cold Saturday afternoon (with an open bar). With Aubrey Plaza as host, the ceremony celebrated the excellence and originality of independent cinema on the eve of the Oscars. It's a fun and more casual appetizer for the Oscars.
