Composition of A & Angels: Mike Fiers tries to break a franchise record

Bellator champion Ryan Bader and his brother-in-law Chris have beef.

Bader, holder of the light and heavy titles of Bellator, and the husband of his sister got stung these last weeks in the perspective of Bellator 226 of Saturday at the SAP Center of San Jose. The 36-year-old asked his brother-in-law – yes, you read that right – and dropped a bottle of water in his legs during a flight, and Bader erased his brother-in-law appropriately before Tuesday's A-Angels match at the Oakland Coliseum.

Bader greeted the local team and, while his brother-in-law chatted with Dallas Braden of NBC Sports California, he snuck behind him with a pair of shaving cream pies. All this is played in the video that you can watch above.

It may not have been after a break, but it seems like an appropriate exception.

Bader is unbeaten in five fights since arriving at Bellator in 2017 and will be defending his heavyweight title for the first time Saturday in San Jose. He will try to improve to 28-5 in MMA when he faces Cheick Kongo (30-10-2) at the SAP Center.

Kongo has won each of his last eight bouts, and all but two have been ruled by the judges. In January, Bader won the Heavyweight Grand Prix and the heavyweight crown after eliminating Fedor Emelianenko 35 seconds after the start of the first round. Bader told Braden that he was hoping for a rehearsal on Saturday.

"I think you always go there taking what he gives you, but I've worked hard," Bader said Tuesday. "I have not had any luck with these other punches, you know, if that happens, it's great, but I'm ready to go away, I'm willing to reduce it if I do not." have to, but everyone likes to go there and knock it out and that's what I want to do. I want to go there [and] KO him, TKO him on the floor and get out of there. I do not want to fight five times if I do not have to. … So coming and going would be better, but I'm always ready to go. "

As long as Bader's fight lasts Saturday, his brother-in-law will probably be relieved to be able to enjoy a respite from their joke war.
