It can not be worse. Right?
The A dropped their opening game with the Houston Astros Monday night, losing 15-0 to the leaders of the AL West. Tanner Roark will travel to Oakland on Tuesday at Minute Maid Park to try to bring back the A's in the winning column after another unbalanced defeat against one of the best baseball teams.
Roark kicked off 6 2/3 innings of white play at his last start on Sept. 4, winning a Los Angeles Angels victory. This victory took place in the friendly compound of the Coliseum and Roark only started once in Houston. He allowed three points (two deserved) in his only appearance at Minute Maid Park on August 22, 2017, leading the Washington Nationals to a win over this season's World Series champions. Given the poor performance of the first game of Monday's season, the A could use a similar start from Roark.
Here is the complete programming of the game A's Astros, which will be broadcast on NBC Sports California and on the MyTeams app. The cover starts at 16:30. PT, with the first throw at 5:10.

It's a way to bounce back.
One night after the Houston Astros, leading the AL, managed to score 15-0 against the A, Oakland made the favor Tuesday at Minute Maid Park and beat Houston 21-7.
The six circuits of the club, including two of Sean Murphy and Matt Olson. Tuesday marked the first time in over a century that the team had scored 20 points or more, compiled 20 or more shots and scored at least six points in a game, according to STATS LLC.
This was not the only story that A did Tuesday either. According to the statistics bureau Elias, Oakland has become the fifth team in MLB history – and the first since 2013 – to win by 14 points or more after losing by more than 15 in their previous match.
Oakland's offensive production would also have placed it in the middle of the pack among NFL offenses after the first week.
20 races, which means we would have beaten the Broncos, Steelers, Bucs, Giants, Bills, Jets, Falcons, Dolphins, Browns, Packers and Bears in a week.#RootedInOakland

Tuesday's win tied A's four-game series with the Astros one game at a time, and Houston only edged Oakland by just one point in the last two games.
The trip was just a little less simple than the result.
Former NFL running back Justin Forsett played 122 games in the league, including a few games at the Oakland Coliseum. He knows what it's like to play there during the baseball season, when the A share the field.
And he was not a fan.
The Cal product tweeted quite the comparison with what it's like to fall on the ground at the bottom of the Coliseum, comparing it to a belly that swings on the sidewalk.
Raiders quarterback Derek Carr confirmed:

David Nixon, who spent a season with the Raiders, also sounded in about his experience playing Oakland during the baseball season.
When I played there, I was told the field team to remove all of the surplus ground from the baseball games, which makes sense.

This would certainly explain why he would feel like rocks.

Maybe Matt Chapman and the rest of the A-s are used to it … but for now, we can not help but imagine people falling on concrete.
