A new concept from Antonio De Rosa imagines an Apple cryptocurrency hardware wallet, complete with Apple Card integration.
One element of the concept is rather far-fetched – the idea that you could mine a significant amount of crypto on a Mac – but the concept of a cold wallet is interesting, and I think that’s an area where Apple could make a difference. real difference …
At the heart of the concept is a nice Apple hardware wallet with a Touch Bar-like touchscreen and Touch ID sensor.
De Rosa sees this integrated with the Apple Card, so that your crypto balances are visible in Apple Wallet and can be spent through the card.
The concept also imagines the possibility of transferring crypto-currencies between individuals.
The hardware key is also displayed as crypto-mining watchdog by Macs or other Apple devices. This is not realistic nowadays given the enormous processing power required to obtain a good yield. Only dedicated mining platforms or large networks stand a chance today.
But Apple’s basic concept of creating a cold wallet for crypto strikes me as interesting. Even many techs are concerned about the risk of currency loss or theft, so a hardware wallet is a good approach and Apple has the required level of confidence. Indeed, the Cupertino company could even make its own cryptocurrency exchange. With Apple branding and marketing, it could turn crypto from a somewhat cheesy phenomenon into something ordinary consumers could embrace.
