Conor McGregor's delay in acknowledging the return of his rival Nate Diaz and his next opponent had a motive.
Diaz made his long-awaited comeback on Saturday night at UFC 241 with a unanimous decision on Anthony Pettis. Subsequently, Diaz called Jorge Masvidal to defend the title. (And both seem interested in getting there.)
Fans were waiting for McGregor, who would organize a rubber match fight. Diaz won the second round on March 5, 2016 and McGregor got an epic five round decision on August 20, 2016.
It was Diaz's last fight until Pettis.
McGregor remained silent about Diaz's return on social media. His only mention was retweet Dillon Danis: "makes you think how good Conor McGregor is."
He broke the silence Tuesday, the third anniversary of their last fight, and said he would be ready if the two come back.
"I do not blame you for not telling me about the trilogy after the fight, you know what I look like when I start. Vicious. I loved the round 3 style of round 1 that you put in place. That's what I hoped you would do for this fight and I was happy to see you do it.
"I'll be ready for that when we go back. If you go back If not, always respect. A war for the ages. "
McGregor said he was "motivated to see him for my own return." The last Irish fighter has beaten 6 October 2018 against Khabib Nurmagomedov and has encountered legal problems since. More recently, he was surprised by a surveillance tape hitting an old man at the bar during a dispute about whiskey.
