Conor McGregor is doing it again on social media, this time targeting former UFC Champion Daniel Cormier in a series of now-deleted tweets.
Since his loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, McGregor has taken to social media several times to attack various parties, including Khabib Nurmagomedov’s late father, Poirier and his family, and more recently, an exchange with the UFC commentator Daniel Cormier.
Cormier believed McGregor “crossed the line” in recent tweets to Nurmagomedov. “I think when things like that are said I think it’s a cry for help,” Cormier said on his ESPN show “DC & RC”.
In response, McGregor posted a since-deleted tweet with a photo of Cormier in a suit while serving as a commentator with the caption: “A cry for help if I’ve seen one before.”
Cormier again responded on his show, stating, “Don’t worry about Daniel Cormier, don’t worry about the things I say. Don’t worry about the way I dress and how I look. Do not do that. Worry about the guys who keep pounding your ass every time you step into the octagon.
The comings and goings continued.
McGregor posted the following since-deleted statements on Twitter on Wednesday evening:
Daniel Cormier is a big mess. Deteriorate day by day. God bless him. He showed up drunk at media events the day before he was in the booth to call my fight. Drunk at a media event at work? On the eve of being a commentator on the greatest fight in history?
It is a licentious offense for a commentator to be drunk at press work the night before commenting on the big fight. Awful ! To do together. Eructure in the mic at a press event and a whole wtf. The day before to comment on the big fight? Is this guy serious? Shameful.
@dc_mma Your back situations are also mental. Your weight and your lifestyle are catastrophic. And now drunk at work the night before commenting on a McGregor event? Pitiful. Congratulations Jon on his birthday knockout knockout on you. Good always beats bad? I wasn’t sure you were evil. False.
McGregor refers to Cormier’s media appearance after the UFC 264 weigh-ins, after drinking beer with Laura Sanko on the official UFC weigh-in show.
“I’m belching because Laura Sanko and I just fucked beers with shotguns on our backs for the championship on our weigh-in show,” Cormier told media in attendance after removing the microphone from his mouth to burp before responding. to a question. . “I have felt like I needed to throw up for 30 minutes.
If Cormier showed up for work drunk, McGregor’s complaints would be a valid concern as to his professionalism. However, this is not the case here. As part of Cormier’s on-air duties during the weigh-in show, drinking alcohol was one of the activities that took place.
In fact, his weigh-in show co-host also intervened via Twitter about Cormier’s condition, adding additional context to the story after McGregor’s tweets:
I can assure everyone that he was not really drunk. DC is a funny guy and he was having fun. He’s twice my size, we drank the same amount just as fast (well, almost lol) and I was fine. He was joking. He is a true professional at all levels. https://t.co/WXbVazrnN8

Additionally, there were no reported concerns about Cormier’s sobriety when called for fights the following night at UFC 264.
It looks like Cormier is ready to end this feud, calling on McGregor to stop talking and focus on the fights in a deleted response on Twitter:
@TheNotoriousMMA we can’t fight it’s just talk so stop! Thank you for watching ! Acquire help. Win a fight
McGregor is still healing from injuries sustained at UFC 264, which included a broken tibia and fibula. His return to action has yet to be determined.
