Console enhancement announced for PS5 and Xbox Series X | S

The Elder Scrolls Online gets a next-gen upgrade later this year on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S. Revealed during the Blackwood Chapter preview event, the Elder Scrolls Online: Improved Console will be offered as a free download to those who already own the PS4 or Xbox One versions of the game. The game will see a big graphics overhaul, with improved highlights, shadows and textures, as well as an improved draw distance. Along with the announcement, Bethesda released an all-new trailer showcasing the improvements to The Elder Scrolls Online: Improved Console, which is at the top of this page.

Like so many other games that have received upgrades on next-gen consoles, ESO: Improved console will offer two different modes for players to choose from: Performance Mode and Fidelity Mode. Currently, the game runs at 30 fps on PS4 and Xbox One. Performance mode will increase this to 60 frames per second. Meanwhile, Fidelity mode will allow native 4K at 30 fps.

Of course, one of the biggest stories about the last generation of consoles has been its shortened load times, and players can expect that from ESO: Improved console, also. According to Bethesda, the game’s load times have been cut almost in half, making for a much faster experience. In addition to these improvements, Bethesda has announced that more will be revealed in the weeks leading up to release.

All in all, this sounds like exciting news for Oldest boy Online scrolls Fans! The video posted by the company is simply breathtaking and it will be interesting to see how the game actually performs after the update. PlayStation fans will also be happy to see the upgrade arrive on their next-gen console with all of the same enhancements, despite Microsoft’s recent purchase of Bethesda. Obviously, the developer will continue to support their games on PlayStation platforms, although it’s not clear what future games will be released on them.
