or Control Ultimate Edition could head to Xbox Game Pass in December 2020.
Xbox Game Pass Twitter shared an email from fictional Melissa McGamepass, Executive Vice President and General Communications Lieutenant for Video Games at Microsoft, and her words really make it look like Control or some other game with a “sinister red light” is coming on Xbox Game Pass next month.

“But guess what? We’re not slowing down for December,” McGamepass wrote. “EA Play is coming to PC and we’ve got a ton of more games planned! We’ve even included REDACTED, which our fans won’t stop mentioning (that’s why I sent you this .gif with the sinister red light) . “

The color red, and the word redacted for that matter, plays a big part in Control’s marketing and gameplay, and while it could be a fake and signify another game is on the way, Xbox Game Pass members may soon be able to play IGN’s game. of the year for 2019.

Additionally, Xbox Director Phil Spencer previously said in 2019 that he was “happy to see that [Control was] enter Game Pass for more people to play. Remedy didn’t confirm it then, but maybe the timing is perfect now.

If this mystery game ends up being Control, it will be interesting to see if this is the Ultimate Edition or not. Earlier this year, it was revealed that the Control Ultimate Edition would be the only way to get free upgrades to the next gen. If you’ve bought the base game and even all of the DLC, you’re still not entitled to a free next-gen upgrade.

Control publisher 505 Games explained the decision and said that “as we are only doing additional development on Control Ultimate Edition on next-gen platforms, we are unfortunately unable to offer a path upgrade to all existing Control players. “

The PS5 and Xbox Series X / S versions of Control were due to be released by the end of 2020, but they were recently postponed until early 2021, which would be nice if this reveal ended up being what it seems.

The control appearing on Xbox Game Pass would follow the announcement that Control is now also playable on Nintendo Switch via the cloud.
