PEMBROKE PARK, Florida – It’s a cold change for South Florida, as our first taste of winter takes place behind a cold front.
Tuesday morning saw lows in the 1950s, which we haven’t felt since early March. Those of us near the coast saw temperatures in the upper 50s, but the mid 50s was felt far from the beaches.
WATCH LOCAL METEOROLOGIST 10 LUKE DORRIS REPORT BELOW:
That’s well below the normal low of 66 to start December.
Late Tuesday evening and early Wednesday morning will be even colder.
Temperatures will drop in the mid-1940s away from beaches, while those near the coast may remain in the low 1950s.
A constant and noticeable northerly breeze with gusts to 25 mph will accompany the cool weather, adding to the chill factor a bit.
Afternoons will be crisp and chilly with 70s for most Tuesdays and Wednesdays, although some places can get stuck in the 60s.
A warming trend will begin on Thursday and we will resume the status quo by the end of the week.
But the winter fronts are on the move and another dose of fresh air seems to be arriving by the weekend.
