Back at the NFL Combine last month, Bears chief executive Ryan Pace was asked what he wanted to see in terms of offensive growth from his team in 2019. His answer was revealing:
"I think we're an exciting offensive to watch and I think we have a lot of pieces that can do a lot of different things and that will only grow in the second year," said Pace. "Now, from a staff point of view, do we need to add something? Yes. Do we want to become faster and more explosive? Yes. And that's our challenge. "
The Bears will be increasingly explosive on the offensive with the addition of Cordarrelle Patterson, who is expected to sign a $ 10 million two-year contract with the Bears on Wednesday at the start of the new year. Patterson ran a 40-yard sprint to the NFL game in 2013 with a 4.42 second lead and was a first-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings later in the year. At 6 feet 2 inches, 220 pounds, he can be used by Matt Nagy to create favorable encounters. Its speed and versatility allow it to line up in the back, bottom and off.
