Lewandowski said he was feeling fine and would stay home as a precaution.

Lewandowski shared a photo aboard Air Force One on November 2 alongside Bossie and others, ahead of a Trump campaign rally in Wisconsin. After election day, he traveled to Pennsylvania on behalf of the campaign, attending press conferences on electoral challenges. He also attended an election night at the White House, where he was seen wearing a mask during the event.

Lewandowski downplayed the possibility of contracting the virus on election night, telling CNN he may have caught it while in Philadelphia.

But several of the individuals in Trump’s orbit who revealed they had Covid-19 this week attended election night. And White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and four other people around the White House and the Trump campaign also tested positive last week.

Trump’s White House has largely ignored federal public health guidelines, which recommend social distancing, wearing masks and avoiding public gatherings. Instead, the White House has hosted large, formal events inside and out, typically ignoring social distancing and sometimes drawing in diplomats and supporters from around the world.

According to data from the Johns Hopkins University Center for Systems Science and Engineering, there have been more than 10.4 million cases of the coronavirus in the United States and more than 242,000 people nationwide have died from the virus. The virus appears to be having a fall resurgence, with new reported cases reaching a record high in the United States on Wednesday.
Guests stood side by side in the East Room of the White House for election night. Most of the guests, including Meadows, were seen without a mask. The White House had scheduled some 400 attendees to attend election night, but that list fell to around 250.

All guests were to expect to receive a rapid test for Covid-19 and a test bracelet, a source familiar to CNN told CNN ahead of the party.

Election night took place about a month after the president was diagnosed with coronavirus.

The president spent three nights in the hospital to recover from the virus and was given oxygen on several occasions. He attributed his recovery to experimental antibody treatments that are not widely available.

Eager to get back on the electoral track, Trump began to hold back consecutive rallies in the days and weeks following his recovery. But on the track, his campaign team generally ignored masks and social distancing between participants.

Trump’s diagnosis came days after another event at the White House, where public health precautions appeared to be being ignored.

At least a dozen people have tested positive for the coronavirus after attending the outdoor White House ceremony announcing Amy Coney Barrett’s appointment to the Supreme Court.

The participants sat side by side and the majority of the audience ignored the use of the masks.
