Coronavirus Vaccine: Memorial Hermann Adds 2K Additional Locations for COVID-19 Drive-Through Vaccination Clinic at NRG Park

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – The 2,000 additional locations Memorial Hermann added for NRG’s COVID-19 vaccine drive-thru clinic this weekend are now full.

After quickly filling all of its slots for COVID-19 vaccine collection clinics, Memorial Hermann announced around 6 p.m. on Friday that it would open more.

The spots were added to the schedule for January 16 and January 17, according to a hospital statement. After about an hour, the hospital announced that they had all been taken away.

Memorial Hermann is teaming up with NRG Park to offer a drive-thru clinic for the COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday, but all available appointments have been booked.

During this event, Memorial Hermann plans to vaccinate people 65 years of age or older, according to the state’s Phase 1B immunization distribution guidelines.

Memorial Hermann added that as of 5 p.m. Friday, they had vaccinated a total of around 6,300 people since it opened Thursday morning.

Vaccination is by appointment only for those who qualify according to state guidelines.

“Due to the limited number of vaccines, people who do not have an appointment confirmation or photo ID corresponding to the name and date of birth on the appointment confirmation, will not be not vaccinated, “he added a statement posted on the Memorial Hermann website.
