Authorities on Monday canceled an Amber alert about a two-year-old missing boy who was allegedly abducted by his father after two bodies were found in Tuolumne County.
The weekend's warning sought help from the public to find the baby, John Weir, and his father, Steven Weir, 32, who were last seen Friday night at Merced. The alert indicated that Steven Weir was armed and dangerous and was driving a 2005 red Hyundai Elantra.
The authorities did not identify the bodies, but confirmed that they were related to the Amber alert.
The bodies were found near a red Hyundai parked in a remote area near Sand Flat Campground.
The officials did not say how the two died.
