Tyler Rich talks about the heartbreaking experience of falling on the body of a dead man during a race.

The country singer, 34, took to Twitter on Friday to discuss the end of his 2020 with the shock of finding a dead body in a wooded area.

In a statement, Rich said he was 2.5 miles away from his run in Chicopee State Park in Massachusetts when he “crossed a dam” and “was looking for a way to cut the hill back to the path”.

“I then saw what I thought was a sleeping homeless youth. He was on his stomach and had a sack strapped around his foot and was face down on the ground. … After running around him, I was felt bad for him, he was sleeping face down and just looked like he was in a bad place, ”Rich wrote.

The singer said he then turned to check on the man and realized he was not breathing.

“As I approach him, all I see is a lifeless face covered in blood. All over. Maybe it looks like he’s been shot, or some blunt force. with a phone to call the police, ”he said.

Rich went on to say he called the cops. After arriving at the scene, authorities discovered a gun in one of the deceased’s hands, he said.

“It could have been suicide,” Rich said. “Not that there was anything that could help me find him like that.”

Rich then called the 24 hours “tough”.

“Not as I had planned to close 2020. It will be a picture and a moment that I will never forget. I have to shout first responders and our military who look death in the eye every day and are able to keep going to live their everyday life, ”he tweeted.

On Saturday, the country star then revealed that he has since spoken to the victim’s mother and is torn by the similarities he has with him.

“I don’t think anyone in the area could have found him who understood him quite like me. I really feel like that was meant to be. I wish I could have met him, had a beer with him and talked about this. that hurt I’m broken by it and didn’t even know him, ”Rich wrote.
