Due to a slowdown in appointments at COVID-19 vaccination sites, San Diego County has today expanded the category of eligible people to include people aged 75 and over.
“We took this step today to add people aged 75 and over because they are at the greatest risk,” said Wilma J. Wooten, MD, MPH, county public health official. “We still intend to extend vaccines to people 65 and over the week of January 25, depending on vaccine availability.”
These new requirements apply to the Petco Park Super Vaccination Station and other distribution points providing the county vaccine. More information is available at coronavirus-sd.com/vaccine and reservations can be made at vaccinationsuperstationsd.com.
Only health workers (phase 1A, all levels) and those aged 75 and over (phase 1B, level 1) can visit vaccination sites.
- Health workers are encouraged to contact their doctor or health care providers first to request the vaccine, but if there is none, they should make an appointment for a county site.
- Appointments are compulsory; walk-in tours and cars without an appointment will be refused.
- Do not make an appointment if you have COVID-19 or if you are sick. Please follow CDC guidelines for these situations
- Healthcare professionals administering the vaccine will wear personal protective equipment
- Wear a mask
- Acceptable forms of proof to present to the county super vaccination station
- Employee ID badge with photo or other documents including professional license and photo ID, signed letter from their employer on establishment letterhead and ID with Photo; or, a payment stub or timesheet from their employer for health care or home support services along with photo ID
