A couple are said to have offered their wedding guests better dining options based on the cost of their gift.
As reported by The Independent and The Mirror, an unidentified newlywed couple appeared to send RSVP invitations to the wedding that linked gift prices with dining options. A photo of the invitation was shared on the r / Wedding Shaming forum.
According to the photo, guests who purchase a gift worth up to $ 250 are categorized under the “Loving Gift” category, which offers them meals like roast chicken and swordfish.
The “cash gift,” priced between $ 251 and $ 500, reportedly included options like sliced steak and poached salmon. The “Golden Gift”, set between $ 501 and $ 1,000, would have improved meals in filet mignon and lobster tails.
The fourth tier, titled “Platinum Gift,” reportedly offered two-pound lobsters and a souvenir glass of champagne for $ 1,001 to $ 2,500.
The RSVP ticket then indicated that vegetarian and kosher meals were available at the “Platinum Gift” level.
Some Reddit users have questioned whether the RSVP was sent for an expensive wedding or even an expensive gala.
The original Reddit poster said they stumbled across the photo in a Facebook group and “were desperately waiting for more information and hoping it was just a joke.”
Other brides-to-be made headlines about their marriage restrictions and rules.
Last month, a bride on TikTok said she received criticism for cutting wedding costs by using fake flowers and forgoing a traditional cake.
Earlier this month, another bride on TikTok made waves after asking her bridesmaids to pay $ 500 for a bachelorette party.
