Millions of people have spent time in quarantine with Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It’s a great way to experience a bit of normalcy and to meet up with friends and family virtually. Apparently, this is also a great way to foster a relationship.
Steven Brown took a Switch and Animal Crossing: New Horizons at the start of the pandemic so he could take his mind off things and relax a bit. He got caught up in the game, which ultimately led to him posting to a Facebook group with other fans. Brown had amassed a ton of bells, and he wanted to share with virtual friends. A stranger from the Facebook group decided to accept it, so they virtually met for the exchange.
Instead of going by the bells and calling it a day, the stranger Brown met took him around his island. This led to a friendship that only grew over the months. The two continued to meet in-game and text each other, which ultimately paved the way for a more serial relationship. The two got so close that they ended up meeting in person, and obviously it went pretty well!
The two are now engaged, and it’s all thanks to their mutual love for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Now the question is … will the wedding be in person or in Animal Crossing ?!
