I'm not going to lie, I've accidentally deleted the first 600 words of this recap. So here's the finale, no matter how many words it ends up being.

After 40 years: Flyers 0 penguins 0
Feeling desperate to be eight points from last place in the playoffs, the Flyers found themselves in third place as though they had been fired from a cannon. The problem was that Matt Murray was there for two good chances while the Flyers were trying to break a scoreless tie.
Those missed opportunities would hurt on the other end, Pittsburgh scoring the first goal of the game shortly after.
Teddy Blueger would break the tie with his fourth game of the season, not even three minutes after the third minute, to give the Penguins a 1-0 lead. After pressure from the Flyers early, the Penguins responded with a goal that Carter Hart would like to have in return given the massive rebound that he left to Blueger.
To make matters worse, Radko Gudas would have a penalty for counter-checking after the goal. Fortunately, the penalty of Gudas would cost nothing because the Penguins would choose one of theirs thanks to Phil Kessel. This guy loves hot dogs and it's pretty cool.
13 minutes from the end, the Flyers have almost equalized, but the shot in force Nolan Patrick found the iron. Then Matt Murray decided not to actively suck the goalkeeper and stole Phil Varone at close range to keep the Penguins ahead. It was then that the Penguins fans decided to remind the Flyers that they had not won the Stanley Cup in 500 years (they did not).
Always desperate for a tying goal, Murray tried to deny the Flyers. Like again, it's only good against a team and it's the Flyers.
Too much penalty would derail the Flyers' efforts eight minutes from time, their second of the match in a win, as their hopes for the playoffs deteriorated. It's not ideal, guys. The good news is that the Penguins also wanted a lot of men and gave the Flyers a numerical advantage with just over five minutes.
Season on the line and probably the most singularly frustrating unit of the Flyers on the ice? What could possibly go wrong? You already know how it ends, but the Flyers' power play did not score … because of course they did not succeed, even though Sean Couturier had a golden chance that Murray was forced to do so. a miraculous backup.
It was only 1:29 left Scott Gordon would send Carter Hart on the bench in search of a tying goal to revive the Flyers' almost lifeless hopes in the playoffs.
WITH 18 SECONDS, BAH GAWD IS THE MUSIC OF JVR.
Travis Konecny received a superb power lead and James van Riemsdyk buried a quick shot in front of Murray to take the score 1-1 and secure a vital point on the road to Pittsburgh.
AFTER 60: Flyers 1, Penguins 1
So the Penguins really won that game in the old 3-in-3, but Carter Hart had other ideas. Dude lived his best life, depriving Sidney Crosby of the biggest game of the Flyers season. Not serious, for him.
When the shooting seemed inevitable, Sean Couturier decided that it would not be necessary.
Just three seconds from the end, Couturier was stabbed over Murray to give the Flyers a 2-1 win and keep their hopes of playing in the playoffs for now. Couturier beat Crosby to the blue line of the Penguins, then made no mistake beating Murray on the blockers' side.
