Since the holiday season, the number of deaths is still worrying but there is a decrease in hospitalizations linked to COVID-19
COVID-19 cases are declining but vaccine is not the determining factor, health experts say.

But despite the decline as a country, we have a way to go. On average, 3,000 per day still lose their lives from the virus.
At this point, over 14 million Americans have taken both doses of the vaccine, but it takes a few weeks to become effective and that number is only about 4% of the population.
In addition, new variants of the virus are spreading, so Americans are urged to continue taking precautions.
“We had three outbreaks. Whether or not we have a fourth outbreak is up to us, ”Frieden said.
