COVID-19 unemployment payments of $ 300 slowly give way to Michigan residents

The battle to collect unemployment benefits continues for many Michigan residents, but state officials declared $ 300 COVID-19 bonus be there soon.

This is money that many people expect, and collecting it from the Unemployment Insurance Agency has been a frustrating challenge.

The $ 300 owed to many Michiganders is part of the $ 900 billion stimulus package. State officials said money was slowing in Michigan.

UIA officials admit there were problems with the release of funds.

“These workers need to be assured that they will not miss out on any benefits and will receive every dollar they are entitled to once the programs are fully implemented,” said a UIA spokesperson.

According to the Ministry of Labor and Economic Opportunities, the state has started issuing payments to around 365,000 applicants this weekend.

Unemployment pandemic compensation payments run from December 27, 2020 to March 13, 2021. They provide an additional $ 300 in benefits per week to Michigan claimants who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Applicants do not have to take any action to receive the additional payments. They will be paid automatically after being certified.

“The UIA team has worked tirelessly to ensure that Michigan is one of the first states to implement the PUC program,” said UIA interim director Liza Estlund Olson. “Now that we have received additional guidance from USDOL, we remain committed to implementing the remaining PUA and PEUC federal programs to get the money out as quickly as possible.”
