What happened to Fauci

Fauci said on Thursday that the second round of the COVID-19 vaccine had knocked him out for an entire day, which he wished not to happen, according to The Hill.

  • “I got it on the 19th. I was hoping I wouldn’t get too knocked out. I did this for about 24 hours. Now I’m fine ” Fauci told reporters Thursday.
  • “Tired. A little sore. You know. Cold. Not sick, ”Fauci added.

Why the second dose is important

University of Utah Division of Infectious Disease associate professor Dr. Emily Spivak told Deseret News it is important to get both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine so that you can be fully protected against virus.

  • “The point of the second dose is to increase the amount of antibodies and immunity you have and hopefully the duration. We don’t even know how long the protection lasts after two doses, ”Spivak said.
