The Covid tests that forced The View presenters Ana Navarro and Sunny Hostin to leave halfway on a live broadcast before Vice President Kamala Harris arrived were false positives, it emerged.

Co-hosts Ana Navarro and Sunny Hostin were banned from Friday morning’s live stream after returning positive results at the eleventh hour.

The explosive news wreaked havoc on the show’s set and forced Harris to delay his interview, which was ultimately carried out via video link from another room at ABC Studios in New York City.

But it has since emerged that the results were both false positives after Navarro and Hostin tested negative in antigen and PCR tests performed as soon as they were removed from the air.

The pair were dramatically ordered seconds before Harris stepped out to a live audience, leaving the producers to scramble

Navarro, who only co-hosts the show a few times a week, told CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Friday night that she was “tested weekly” and tested negative after the broadcast.

“Suddenly it turned into an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm,” she told Cooper.

She told Cooper that she and Hostin were taken to their locker room where they were given antigen and PCR test and had to wait there until they got their results.

Navarro declined to reveal Hostin’s results, but revealed that his initial test was a “false positive”.

Hostin and Navarro were seated on stage alongside co-hosts Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin shortly after 10 a.m. on Friday as they prepared to welcome Harris to their table.

But the introduction was dramatically cut short by showrunner Teta, who yelled at Hostin and Navarro to leave the room, leaving Behar to explain to the audience what had happened.

“Sunny and Ana have both apparently tested positive for COVID. No matter how hard we try, these things happen, ”she said.

“They probably have a decisive case and they will both be fine, I’m sure, because they are both vaccinated.”

Their sudden departure left Behar and Haines scrambling to fill the airtime. The couple spent several minutes answering viewers’ questions in scenes described by one columnist as “an absolute shipwreck.”

Harris was eventually moved to a back room and conducted an abbreviated interview with Behar and Haines from a distance.

A spokesperson for the vice president’s office told DailyMail.com: “The vice president had no contact with the hosts prior to the show. His schedule today [on Friday] will continue as planned.

Meanwhile, an ABC insider on Saturday accused The View of “monumental failure” after the two co-hosts were ripped from their chairs, claiming it was a “security risk. “.

“This is a monumental failure on the part of showrunner Brian Teta, ABC News Kim Goodwin and Disney’s Peter Rice,” the anonymous insider exclusively told DailyMail.com.

“It is a risk to national security. If Sunny and Ana had met Kamala, she would have been in danger. What a total waste of his time. I doubt we will be able to book it again.

The ABC insider said the Friday morning airing error was indicative of the chaos happening behind the scenes on the daytime show.

“It shows how mismanaged the show is… Kim Goodwin and Peter Rice need to step in and take control of this show because it really shows that they don’t have any control over them.”

Viewers were also appalled by the drama that unfolded live on air.

“Vice President Harris is apparently waiting backstage. Behar is now answering questions from the audience. A real train wreck, ”tweeted The Hill columnist Joe Concha.

“Two (vaccinated) hosts on @TheView were rushed off stage during the show after testing positive for COVID-19, following their self-righteous condemnation of the unvaccinated. You can’t make it up, ”wrote Madison Gesiotto Gilbert.

Tomi Lahren replied, “Wait, wait WHAT ?! These women on @TheView just finished preaching about COVID and health and safety and how bad the unvaccinated and nothing in the commercial break, 2 of they have to leave because they have… wait… COVID! ‘

She added, “Well, apparently the super careful women at @TheView might be the super spreaders they’re telling you about!”

It is not known why ABC’s COVID test results were received at the 11th hour. It is also not known how often Hostin and Navarro have been tested for the virus in recent days.
