Among the many beloved elements of “Cowboy Bebop” – the flagship animated series from the late 1990s that became a cult sensation in the United States after its premiere on Adult Swim in 2001 – perhaps the best known is its streak. killer opening credits, set to the singular jazz theme “Tank! »By Yoko Kanno.
The opening credits are so iconic that, rather than releasing a trailer to promote their upcoming live-action adaptation of “Cowboy Bebop,” Netflix chose to launch the show’s full opening credits at its event. World for Tudum fans on Saturday.
The series follows a team of Bounty Hunters, or Cowboys, who patrol the Solar System in search of criminals in their spaceship, Bebop. The crew consists of Spike Spiegel (John Cho), known for his pointy clothing and droopy hair; Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir), an ex-cop with a robotic arm; and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda), who spent over 50 years in cryogenic sleep before joining the Bebop. Alex Hassell (“The Boys”) as Vicious, Spike’s former crime partner and current nemesis, and Elena Satine (“The Gifted”) as Julia, the woman who s’ is interposed between Spike and Vicious, also join the main cast.
