Dallas Cowboys right tackle La’el Collins was in a minor car accident Thursday that kept him from leaving the field, but is in training with the team, according to multiple sources.

Collins worked on the side at the start of training camp as he faced a soft tissue injury.

It is not yet known whether the crash will affect Collins’ ability to return to the field as soon as possible.

The Cowboys were without their top three tackles in practice Thursday with Tyron Smith sitting down after his hamstrings tightened. He underwent individual drills before leaving before the team moved the session to Ford Center.

Cameron Erving, who was signed to be the two-point tackle substitute as a free agent, has yet to train due to illness but is expected to be able to work soon .

Without the three tackles, Wyatt Miller and Terence Steele worked on the left tackle for Smith and Brandon Knight worked on the right tackle for Collins. The Cowboys added Pace Murphy to the roster on Tuesday and it was his first practice.

Dak Prescott has an overview of Collins, Smith and Erving’s absences.

“I think that’s going to make me a better player, to be honest,” Prescott said. “We know what

Guys, starters, famous starters, we know what this is. They played and they were great and been in this league for a while, so no worries there. “
