Rolando McClain has retired three times and is currently serving his third suspension in the NFL. The former linebacker has not played since 2015.
But McClain says he wants to come back. . . again.
First, the NFL should reinstate McClain, who was indefinitely suspended on December 2, 2016. Then, McClain should find an NFL team willing to give him a third (fifth – fifth – sixth?) Chance.
A source confirmed that the Cowboys retained their rights as he was on their reserve / suspended list before the 2016 season, when he began a 10-game suspension, the second of his career.
However, the Cowboys would likely cut McClain back he needed to get a reinstatement, knowing that he had signed a one – year contract worth $ 5 million before the 2016 season.
McClain retired twice with the Ravens and has never played for Bas Baltimore, missing the 2013 season, before being traded to Dallas. He started 23 games in two seasons with the Cowboys, including a four-game suspension in 2015.
McClain has never shown a love for the game, and if he really wants to come back – which is a big result given his story – then the XFL is probably a more likely destination.
