Cowboys strength coach Markus Paul experienced ‘medical emergency’

The Cowboys provided more information on the incident that resulted in Tuesday’s practice being canceled.

“Shortly before 7:30 am this morning Markus Paul, Dallas Cowboys strength and conditioning coordinator had a medical emergencyThe team said in a statement. “Paul was immediately treated by Cowboys medics and transported to a local hospital by ambulance.

“According to the Paul family, Markus is undergoing further medical tests and more information will be made available in due course.”

The Cowboys subsequently canceled practice today. Coach Mike McCarthy also canceled a scheduled media availability.

Paul, a fourth-round pick for the Bears in 1989, also played for the Buccaneers. He worked for the Saints, Patriots, Jets and Giants, where he served from 2007 to 2018. He joined the Cowboys in 2018.
