Conservatives were left baffled and criticized President Joe Biden after joking about Republicans who believed Democrats would “suck the blood of children” in an exchange with a reporter.
“Are there people in the Republican Party who think we suck the blood of children? the president joked Wednesday in response to a reporter asking if there were any Democrats who wanted to fund the police.

The puzzled reporter replied, “I’m not sure.”
The comment drew mockery and condemnation on social media, with many also expressing confusion.
“Anyone else worried about how obsessed Joe Biden is with sucking children’s blood?” lawyer Jenna Ellis tweeted in response.
“Yeah, that’s uh… scary,” Red State wrote in an article regarding the exchange.

The president’s comment came after he made a similar remark about ‘sucking children’s blood’ at a CNN town hall event hosted by Don Lemon, saying the country must ‘go beyond “of these QAnon conspiracy theories.
“But some things – I mean, Qanon, the idea of Democrats or Biden hiding people and sucking children’s blood and – no, I’m serious. It’s – now you might not like me. not, and that’s your OK. Listen, it’s a simple thing. You can go out and say, I just don’t like the way that guy wears his tie. I’m voting against him. You have the right to do it. You have the right to do this, “he said.

He added: “The kind of things that are being said lately, I think you’re starting to see some of – and by Democrats as well – some sort of venom, some sort of leakage of a lot. We’ve got to go. Beyond that.”
The town hall has been widely criticized by conservatives, with some describing it as a “train wreck” and others claiming that Lemon is “not a journalist” but an “activist” for the Democratic Party.
