The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is investigating how a baby was found Wednesday in a dumpster near Boca Raton, Florida.
Two people walking near an apartment complex in West Boca Raton heard what looked like crying near the dumpster around 9 o'clock, the sheriff's office said.
After verification, a little girl was found alive.
The newborn was taken to a local hospital for assessment and is expected to survive, the sheriff's office said.
