A group of 21 migrants, including 13 Cubans and 8 Ecuadorians, were rescued by the Colombian authorities in the Caribbean waters of this country.
"We saved 21 irregular migrants of Cuban and Ecuadorian nationality who were sailing in the Caribbean Sea," said the Navy on its Twitter account.
The migrants were transported on the motorboat "Black Moon" by two Colombians south of the island of San Andrés, said the Navy in a statement.
The boat was fined for detention. In the group, a minor was made available to the police of childhood and adolescence, while the two Colombians were "captured and made available to the prosecutor" for the crime of smuggling of migrants.
The rescued migrants received medical care for military health.
The Navy stated that the 21 migrants were made available to Migración Colombia, so that the legal proceedings of the case can be carried out.
