Colombia wants to set up the Caribbean Baseball Series and the fastest, much better.

The Mayor of Barranquilla, through the Colombian Baseball Federation, submits a proposal to the Caribbean Baseball Confederation (CBPC) to consider Colombia as a special guest of the Caribbean series and to be allowed to Mount the mini-tournament that faces each year the champions of the Caribbean Winter Ball Tournaments.

The proposed city in the Barranquilla Project is the capital of the Atlantic Department on the Colombian coast that overlooks the Caribbean Sea. A month ago, Barranquilla inaugurated a modern baseball stadium that is part of the complex of facilities that the municipality has built for the badembly of the Central American and Caribbean Games, which will begin on July 19th.

"We have a new stadium a magnificent facility, a professional league, the will to comply with all the requirements of the tournament and a keen fan of such events," said Alejandro Char, Mayor of Barranquilla.

"We are already in contact with the confederation and we plan to submit an official draft in the coming days, we would be ready to even mount the 2019 Caribbean series," said Char.
