Havana, July 6 (RHC) The historian of the city of Havana, Dr. Eusebio Leal, received on July 6 in Santiago de Cuba the distinction Illustre Son of this city of East, and the International Casa del Caribe Award, on the Plaza de la Revolution Antonio Maceo
Raúl Fornés, president of the Municipal Assembly of Popular Power, granted high recognition and two babalawos (priests Afro-Cubans) offered the price of the Casa del Caribe, a mpaka (shelter), a horn with fragments of plants, a land of crossroads and other elements.
The ceremony coincided with the XXXVIII Caribbean Festival by the idea of Lázaro Expósito, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and first secretary of the territory, and Beatriz Johnson, vice president of the Council of the Caribbean. State and chairman of the Provincial Assembly of People's Power, who led the tribute.
For his part, Leal thanked the honor and recounted his pilgrimage to Santiago de Cuba, meditation on historical sites, in front of every river and mountain.
The laureate concluded with the verse of José Martí: "What sweet mystery of tenderness this word has: Cuban." (Source: ACN)
