One of the most traditional and prestigious events in the world of dance, with more than half a century of history, the Havana International Ballet Festival "Alicia Alonso" will have held from October 28 to November 6 and will be dedicated, in its XXVI edition, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the National Ballet of Cuba, host company of this important event.
This event, chaired by the first ballerina badolute Alicia Alonso, will bring together the first figures and the famous dance body of the National Ballet of Cuba, with stars and guest groups from other countries, who will be the interpreters of first choreographic pieces of domestic and foreign authors.
One of the peculiarities of the programming is the big season dedicated to celebrating the 75th anniversary of Alicia Alonso's stage debut in Giselle, which will be badumed by the leading figures and Cuban stars of the Nza world.
Various activities will be conducted in parallel with the Festival, which will offer as a special option a ballet technique course for professionals, teachers and advanced students.
Exhibitions will also be held in galleries of the capital and will be offered lectures, book presentations, and there will be several philatelic events, such as cancellations of the first day alluding to the 70th anniversary of the National Ballet of Cuba, as well as as many memories about events that relate to the history of the company
