Bolivia participates in the SACO7 Chile Festival

The country participating in the Contemporary Art Festival of Chile SACO7 which will be inaugurated today in Antofagasta, with the theme Origin and Myth. According to a newsletter of the National Museum of Art (MNA), Bolivia to take a sample of photography, painting and video art from recognized exhibitors.

SACO7 offers 12 exhibitions in a circuit called Museum Without Museum distributed between Antofagasta, Calama and San Pedro de Atacama, constituting an event that proposes a dialogue with the Santiago region. You will have creative artists from Germany, Bulgaria, Costa Rica, Brazil and Poland, who will be in a week of residence.

The festival also offers a reflection on this subject through a panel, a symposium, four conferences, a clinic, three workshops and two magazine portfolios, four meetings in schools in Antofagasta, Mejillones and Quillagua, as well as the 39, a meeting between scientists from the field of archeology and anthropology with curators and artists in San Pedro de Atacama, which will participate the curator of the deputy, Juan Fabbri.

Works at the Festival

The festival will feature the work Dragged and Dismembered (2007), video of 8 by Claudia Joskowicz, who lives and works in New York and Santa Cruz. There will also be the work Coyote (2013), photographs taken by Alejandra Dorado, graduate in fine arts with a mention in painting from the ARCIS University (Art and Social Sciences) of Santiago, Chile.

There will also be Ultramadre works (2009), a video recording of an eight-minute performance by the artist of Rhythms Andrs Bedoya; Dual (2015), three-minute video of Alejandra Delgado; and La conquista (1932), a 40 x 60 cm painting by Jorge de la Reza (1901-1958), which shines in La Paz and promotes its art in Colombia and Chile.
