Havana, July 25.- The film Yuli, inspired by the The life of Cuban dancer Carlos Acosta, directed by Spanish filmmaker Iciar Bollaín, will be competing at the San Sebastian International Film Festival, announced Acosta Danza.

A statement from the company states that the 66th edition of the event will feature among its singularities with the world premiere of the film, whose artistic casting is directed by Acosta himself, along with Laura de La Uz, Santiago Alfonso , Yerlín Pérez, Carlos Enrique Almirante and Andrea Doimeadiós, among others.

Acosta Danza also participates in the film, written on a screenplay by Scottish director Paul Laverty, double winner of the Palme d'Or in Cannes and regular author of Ken Loach's films.

For this particular film, Laverty was based on the autobiographical book of the dancer, No Way Back, although the film does not have the intention of presenting a biopic.

The film articulates around the relationship of Carlos and his father, who was very strong, very special, it will reflect the life of the dancer but the central axis will be the relationship of one father and son, Bollaín told Prensa Latina a few months ago.
