Artemis, July 15 (ACN) The International School of Cinema and Television (EICTV) of San Antonio de los Baños celebrated its XXVI graduation, dedicated to the famous Argentine filmmaker Fernando Birri, died December 27, 2017.
Founded by Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, the Colombian writer Gabriel García Márquez, filmmakers Birri and Julio García Espinosa (Cuba), the center has graduated December 15, 1986 46 students in management specialties, documentary, production, screenplay, sound, photography, publishing, television and new media from 17 countries.
On behalf of the graduates, the Costa Rican student Sadiel Hernández Blanco thanked the opportunity to study in Cuba and evoked multiple experiences during his stay at the facility.
As a letter of love for his colleagues, teachers and workers, Hernandez Blanco pointed out that without cinema there is no life and how not to miss the workshop and the people from other countries who, although different, felt the same pain and joy and became brothers.
Susana Molina, Director of EICTV, recognized the student family as a pillar of the project and told how the founders promoted ideas, illusions and chimeras.
Molina summons the graduates to continue to create and be true to themselves, emphasizes that there is no naivety in the pictures or in the sounds and shows the confidence that they will not recoil when anxiety, impairments and misunderstanding will overwhelm them.
The school applies the educational philosophy of learning by doing, with teachers who are filmmakers and pbad on their knowledge backed by exercise and experience.
For this reason, he received a special coral prize at the XXXVIII Festival of New Latin American Cinema, which was held in Havana in 2016.
