Both vaccines are included in the routine vaccination schedule, said Dr Soraya Araya, head of the Expanded Immunization Program (PAI).

He adds that the meningococcal tetravalent vaccine prevents meningococcal meningitis, which is offered to high-risk individuals: complement deficiency, HIV-positive people, people traveling to hyperendemic areas of meningococcal infection, functional asplenia or surgical and recruits.
